The CNY Hackathon, a regional cybersecurity competition, will be hosted online on Friday, 6 Nov. and Saturday, 7 Nov.
Utica College and Mohawk Valley Community College are partnering to host the CNY Hackathon. This event is hosted each fall and spring semester to improve the state of computer science and cybersecurity education, and more closely align academia with Central New York industry partners.
The two-day event will kick off at 1600 EST on Friday with a series of security related presentations conducted by industry professionals. The competition portion of the event will begin promptly at 0900 EST on Saturday and run until 1700. The two-day event also includes an online job fair.
Quanterion Solutions is participating as a platinum sponsor. Other sponsors include Griffiss Institute, Assured Information Security (AIS), Alion, Adeptus Cyber Solutions, and Air Force STEM, North Point Defense, NYCM Insurance, and PAR Government.
“The CNY Hackathon taps into the region’s cybersecurity nexus to inspire the next generation of industry professionals,” said John Reade, computer scientist at Quanterion Solutions Incorporated. “Students from across CNY develop cutting-edge experience and connections to get a jumpstart on their careers, and the local emphasis encourages these bright young minds to pursue opportunities in the Mohawk Valley.”
