The Air Force Material Command’s Enterprise Sourcing Group at Offutt AFB, NE has awarded a five-year contract to Quanterion Solutions Incorporated to operate theCyber Security and Information Systems Information Analysis Center (CSIAC). Under the $27M contract, Quanterion will serve as a Center of Excellence for the DoD in Cyber Security, Modeling & Simulation, Knowledge Management and Software Engineering. The Center will be focused on leveraging knowledge bases, best practices and expertise from industry, government and academia in each of the technology domain areas. Quanterion President Preston MacDiarmid indicated that although key additions to the company’s staff have already been made, additional technical professionals are being sought for both its Utica and Rome offices.
Thomas McGibbon, the company’s Director of Software Engineering, will serve as the Program Manager for the new contract which is technically managed by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate in Rome, NY and is sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Paul Engelhart of AFRL has been appointed as the CSIAC Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative by DTIC. The Center is one of eight such centers, each addressing a different set of technologies, in the DoD’s Information Analysis Center (IAC) program; Quanterion also operates similar operations of the Reliability Information Analysis Center (RIAC) locally.
The CSIAC operation will be at the State University of New York (SUNY) Institute of Technology in Utica, NY and at the Griffiss Institute in Rome, NY. Key members of the Quanterion team include Assured Information Security (AIS), SRC, AEgis Technologies, Syracuse University, the University of Southern California and George Mason University.
