The "217Plus" reliability prediction methodology was developed by Quanterion Solutions. The methodology represents the latest approach being used by government and industry under its analysis activities of the DoD Reliability Information Analysis Center (RIAC).

• The "217Plus^™" methodology is intended to be a replacement for the MIL-HDBK-217 "Reliability Prediction of Electronic Equipment" which is no longer maintained by the DoD and hasn't been updated since 1995.
• The failure rate models of "217Plus^™" are more than updated MIL-HDBK models; they are restructured to be more accurate by enhanced approaches to accounting for environments, for quality, and for cycling effects on reliability. The methodology also allows users to combine its models with their own experience data in a Bayesian type approach.
• The methodology is available in many forms:
  • As a hardcopy or downloadable "Handbook of 217Plus^™ Reliability Prediction Models" from the RIAC
  • As a comprehensive reliability prediction software tool developed by Quanterion also called "217Plus^™" from the RIAC
  • As a Microsoft Excel based tool including the "217Plus^™" failure rate models from the RIAC
  • As part of the Quanterion integrated reliability tool suite called "TRADES^®"
