Three Contract Wins for Quanterion

Utica, NY, March 3, 2006

Quanterion Solutions, a small business engineering consulting firm based in Utica, NY, has been awarded three recent contracts. Company President Preston MacDiarmid announced that Brookhaven National Laboratories (BNL) has awarded a 3-year engineering support services contract to Quanterion to support its International Safeguards Project Office and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Under the program, the company will support BNL's activities in the areas of Project Management Support, Equipment/System Design Development, Management Consulting, Performance Based Training, and Feasibility and Safeguards Technology Studies.

It was also announced that the Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center at Redstone Arsenal has awarded Quanterion a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract entitled "Long Term Missile Aging Reliability Prediction for Lead Free Solder Connections" to study the impact of recent international regulatory requirements that the electronics industry move away from lead-based solders due to environmental concerns. Project Manager Seymour Morris indicated that Quanterion will collaborate with Utica, NY based Indium Corporation of America on the effort.

MacDiarmid also announced the award of another one-year Redstone-based contract to continue the development of its PROTOCOL (Product Reliability On-line Tools Collection) engineering environment for the U.S. Army. This effort will expand and refine the results of the effort started in 2002.

While financial terms of the awards were not disclosed, MacDiarmid indicated that the recent wins, coupled with Quanterion's rapidly expanding work through its subcontracted operation of the Department of Defense Reliability Information Analysis Center (RIAC) at the SUNY Institute of Technology (SUNYIT) have created a number of engineering and information technology openings.
