Quanterion Solutions’ Rose Receives Prestigious Carr Award

Utica, NY, Febuary 15, 2008

The Mohawk Valley Engineers Executive Council has awarded David Rose, Quanterion Solutions Manager of Advanced Programs, the 2008 E. Quint Carr Award for Engineering Excellence for his contributions to the field of corrosion prevention.

Mr. Rose has become recognized as a national leader in efforts to reduce the estimated $276B annual cost of corrosion.  He is playing a critical role in advocating and promoting new approaches to solving this critical problem by improving undergraduate engineering curricula so that future engineers possess the skills needed to design corrosion resistant products, and by developing more effective design analysis methods so that corrosion is more completely addressed early in a product’s lifecycle.  Mr. Rose recently assembled an important panel discussion of the role that the reliability engineers can play in corrosion prevention at the 2008 Annual International Reliability and Maintainability Symposium.

Mr. Rose joined Quanterion in November of 2006 after serving as Director of the Department of Defense Advanced Materials, Manufacturing and Testing Information Analysis Center (AMMTIAC) (previously called the AMPTIAC) for nine years. He previously served as an Air Force officer before retiring in 1996. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton.  He is currently completing his Doctor of Engineering in Materials Engineering from the University of Dayton.
